On The Rocks (Art Nude)

A few weeks ago when up at Flamborough Rocks, Yorkshire, with my mate Gary, i wanted to try out a few art nudes. One possible place was too busy with groups of students wandering over and milling about. We walked to another spot that was quieter. As the students left there were just a handful of people across the other side of the beach, so we went into a small cove where there was a wonderful seam of white rock amongst the darker rocks. I only did one pose that we tried from different viewpoints. If the area had been completely free of people i’d have had more time to try out a few different poses. But we have to try and make the most of the time we have.

I really like the way the seam of white rock works its way across the frame with the figure tucked away at the end.

A more straight on view this time. A thin crack in the rock curves nicely to go with the dark line under the belly.

A much closer viewpoint.

At this point i got dressed as there were a couple of people heading our way, though in the end they didn’t come to this area.
It was also raining so we decided it was a good time to pack up and move further up the coast to Filey.

About PurpleT

Much of my photography is art and documentary. I try to capture a scene as i see it in my mind, whether that be black and white, colour, or somewhere in between. I try to make an interesting, and/or attractive image from what i see around me, not just what would be expected, but also subjects that would be seen boring, mundane, or ugly by many. But they all have an interest as art photography. I have also spent nearly twenty years working as a life model, then the human figure in art is very important to me, and is something i try to bring into my work at times.
